David Casey is the Director of the Careers Service at the University of Cape Town (UCT). He is responsible for the strategic leadership, management and development of the service and its staff. Prior to this appointment he was Deputy Director at University College Dublin Careers Service.

The Careers Service at UCT has a vision to be the leading African Careers Service recognised globally for innovation, quality and impact David champions both the career management and employability agendas at the university. At UCT’s multi award-winning Careers Service staff ensure under David’s leadership that UCT students, graduates and alumni can translate their attributes, skills and experiences to meet employers needs therefore maximizing their potential and contribution to the global community in which they will live and work.

To date David has successfully led the team to implement a high-quality, outward-facing careers service, leveraging the use of technology and developing partnerships to best serve key stakeholders that engage with UCT Careers Service.

Active in careers related benchmarking communities and professional associations having served as past co-chair of Association on Higher Education Careers Services in Ireland, David regularly receives international requests as a conference speaker, consultant and facilitator. David had committed to being a guest lecturer at Rogue Institute where he will assist in providing transitioning techniques to ITEC qualifying students to enable them make successful transitions into the work place both locally and internationally. We are very excited that David has agreed to work with us.
